The City of Bunker Hill Village Municipal Court provides an accessible legal forum for individuals to have their court matters heard in a fair and efficient manner, while providing a high level of integrity, professionalism, and customer service. The City's Municipal Court adjudicate Class C misdemeanor cases including traffic, city ordinance, state code, juvenile, and disabled parking violations.
All court appearances are in-person at Bunker Hill Village City Hall.
Court Docket Information
All court dockets are posted 48 hours prior to court date and are subject to change without notice.
Court dates are located on the bottom of your citation unless you have been reset.
If you cannot locate your name on the docket, contact the Municipal Court at 713-827-1772. If your name is not listed in the docket, it is still your responsibility to show up.
Court Dress Code
Under the inherent power and duty of all Texas courts as codified in Section 21.002, Government Code, the following Rules of Decorum shall apply and govern all proceedings before the Municipal Court:
While the Court is in session there shall be:
- No reading of newspapers or magazines
- No loud noises or talking (this includes profane, vulgar, abusive, or indecent language)
- No food or beverages
- No gestures, facial expressions, or sounds indicating approval or disapproval
- No inappropriate attire. No shorts or cut-offs; No low-cut blouses or tops; No skirts or dresses that are short; No muscle shirts or shits without sleeves, clothing with offensive, vulgar, racist, sexist, obscene, lewd, or suggestive words, slogans, depictions, or pictures; No clothing too tight, too short, too baggy, or pants worn below the waistline
- No weapons of any type
- No unattended children, all children must remain quiet
- No cell phones or pages (cell phones and pagers must be turned off or they will be confiscated)
- No hats, caps, bandanas, sunglasses or any headgear, except with permission of the judge
- If you are intoxicated/ under the influence, by any alcohol or drugs you will not be permitted to see the judge, and could be arrested
Citation Information
Fines and court costs may be paid by mail or in person on or before a scheduled appearance. For fine amount information, contact the court clerk. Payments made by mail can be made in the form of a personal check, money order or cashier's check. Payments made in person may be made in the form of cash, personal check, money order or cashier's check. (Checks are not accepted as form of payment on warrants.)
Persons charged with a moving violation resulting in an accident must appear, and persons sixteen years of age or younger must appear in court with one or both parents.
A second or subsequent conviction of an offense under the Texas Motor Vehicle Safety Responsibility Act will result in the suspension of your driver's license and motor vehicle registration unless you file and maintain proof of financial responsibility with the Department of Public Safety for two years from the date of convictions. The Department may waive the requirement to file proof of financial responsibility if you file satisfactory evidence with the department showing that at the time this citation was issued, the vehicle was covered by a liability insurance policy or that you were otherwise exempt from the requirements to provide evidence of financial responsibility.
Violate promise to appear in court, as provided by law, for the presentation of the offense, may result in denial of driver's license renewal and a warrant will be issued.

Court Procedures
Persons who have been charged, may enter their plea on the charge in one of three ways:
- Guilty (pay the fine and costs)
- Not Guilty (You are requesting a trial. You must see the prosecutor before leaving the building to get a trial date and time.)
- Nolo Contendre (no contest) You have opted to not contest the charge and the punishment is at the discretion of the court
Persons charged with an expired driver's license, expired motor vehicle inspection or expired motor vehicle registration, that has not been expired more than sixty days and corrected it within twenty working days of the date of the citation or date of your first appearance which ever comes first and have proof that it has been corrected, may present proof prior to your court date at the clerks office or appear in court to see the judge for consideration under the law for dismissal and if dismissed a $20.00 administrative fee will be paid to the court clerk. If you have been charged with failure to provide proof of financial responsibility and you did have insurance on the day you received the citation, show the proof to the court. If it is correct, that case will be dismissed. There is no administrative fee for financial responsibility.
Note: Only the judge can dismiss tickets. If you have a ticket that you might want to try to get dismissed, you have to show it to the judge at your court appearance. There may be various fines required and due at the time of your court appearance. Please be prepared to submit payment.
Driver Safety
You may be able to request that a moving violation be dismissed by taking a driving safety course.
In order to be eligible for the driving safety course, you must:
- Have a valid Texas operator's license (Commercial Drivers License not eligible)
- Have liability insurance or other proof of financial responsibility under the name of the defendant.
- You may not have had a driving safety course taken for a ticket dismissal within the proceeding 12 months from the date of the violation or be presently authorized to take a driving safety course by another court.
- If you are charged with speeding 25 miles or more over the posted limit, you are not eligible for a driving safety course.
- If you notify the court on or before the appearance date shown on the citation.
Requirements if eligible for the driving safety course:
- A $144.00 court and administrative fee.
- A $169.00 court and administrative fee if offense was committed in a school zone
- Valid Texas drivers license
- Proof of insurance (financial responsibility)
The clerk will accept your payment along with other requirements and in turn give you some forms with dates. You will have 90 days to complete the course and submit required proof to the court. There will be a form that will need to filled out and sent to Austin with $10.00 asking for a certified copy of your driving record. You can take the class wherever you would like, just as long as the person instructing the class is certified through the state of Texas and the class is for ticket dismissal. Other information will be given at the time the request is made.

Methods of Payment
- In Person: You may pay in cash, credit card, personal check, money order or cashier's check at City Hall, 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday excluding City Holidays.
- Mail: Do not send cash in the mail.
- Online: See below for more information. Online payments are non-refundable.
Conditions of Online Payments
Credit card payments can only be made for the full amount of the violation.
If you have previously set up a payment plan with municipal court, those partial payments must be submitted directly to the court at 11977 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77024.
Please be advised that voluntary online payments will result in a conviction and be reported to the Texas Department of Public Safety and will forfeit any right to request driving safety class or deferred disposition for possible dismissal of your citation.
Please be aware that paying your ticket online counts as a plea of guilty.
If you are experiencing difficulties paying online it is your responsibility to contact the municipal court to ensure your citation is taken care of in a timely manner.
If you wish to plea "not guilty", do not make a payment of your fine. Contact the municipal court at 713-827-1772 for information on pleading "not guilty"
All juveniles (ages 16 and under) are required to appear in court for all proceedings in their case(s) and cannot make online payments. The parent or legal guardian of any juvenile charged in municipal court is required to be present with his or her child.
