From the Mayor

Dear Residents,Newsletter.JPG

I am honored to be your Mayor and hope to get to know each of you over time.

It is a busy time in Bunker Hill! I want to thank our City staff, City Council, Planning and Zoning Commission, Beautification Committee, Drainage Committee, Safety Committee, Technology Committee and everyone that assists us. We focus our projects to fulfill our city's mission statement. Per the preamble written by our leaders in the 1950's when they first established zoning in our City and reconfirmed in 1990 when the formed the City into two zoning districts:

"The very purpose of the City's being was and is to provide and perpetuate a quiet, tranquil, safe, and orderly community of single-family homes with abundant greenery and open spaces, clean air and water, a safe environment, and other amenities conducive to the development and enjoyment of family life"

Over the past few years, we adopted new development ordinances to keep this vision intact. In addition, we added trees and landscaping to our public areas and provided a memorial area for our residents to honor loved ones. We constructed drainage improvements and adopted a drainage ordinance to ensure our drainage is maintained in the future.  In addition, we are working diligently on the rehabilitation of streets, water lines and wastewater lines as well as ensuring clean and adequate water supply.

All together, we are Bunker Hill Strong - a great place to live, raise a family, and retire!!

We appreciate our great residents and welcome those that are new!   We encourage each of you to sign up for v-linc and stay informed!
