DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;\nHappy 4th of July from your staff at Bunker Hill!\n 20

ILLAGE **&nbsp\; CITY OF HILSHIRE VILLAGE\n&nbsp\;\nDear Friends: \nThe Me
morial Villages are pleased and excited to announce the 29th Annual Memori
al Villages Independence Parade set for Monday\, July 5\, 2021. \nOn behal
f of the Villages\, I would like to invite you to be a part of this year’s
festivities. \nThe event will be held on Monday\, July 5th. The parade do
 wn Piney Point Road\, kicks-off our patriotic\, flag waving\, red\, white
and blue celebration of America’s birthday. \nWe are happy to report that
last year's distancing and masking restrictions are no longer in effect! O
f course\, mask up if you choose to. As the Parade is on a Monday\, we wil
l not be having our usual gathering at the end of the parade as we simply
ran out of organizing time and location. I promise we'll be having a big b
ash next year! We need some new blood to start an organizing committee for
the Independence Festival\, so if you are interested in serving\, let us
know! We will simply come out\, wave the flag\, cheer our Police and Fire
Personnel\, celebrate our Great Nation and go enjoy the Holiday. \nThere i
s also a “Fun Run” and children’s bike ride to kick off the parade. Meet u
p at the Memorial High field house parking lot at 9:45am. Runners will go
first. The run is a true Fun Run (if you call running fun)\, no timers\, n
o categories\, no pressure. The run will go down Piney Point and end near
Ecclesia Church. Runners will need to have their own transportation back t
o the start. \nShortly after the runners leave\, we will have a Children’s
Bike Ride. We are encouraging riders (of all ages) to decorate their bike
s and ride the parade route. All in support our Red\, White\, and Blue. Fa
milies are encouraged to ride. \nNext\, it is the vehicle parade starting
at 10am. Residents who wish to join in are encouraged to decorate their ve
hicles following a Red\, White and Blue theme. The parade will be led by t
he Village Fire Department\, followed by Village Officials\, Resident Vehi
cles and followed up by our Police Departments. \nThe old-fashioned 4th of
July celebration is a joint effort of the six Memorial Villages and is fr
ee to all attendees. We will not be having floats this year\, but might be
throwing candy… The Parade will end in front of St. Francis/Ecclesia Chur
ch. \nIf you will be joining in the parade and decorating a vehicle you mu
st register in advance. The parade will be limited to the first 100 vehicl
es that register. Please send your name and phone number to Tom Fullen at
tfullen@cityofhunterscreek.com Limit of 1 vehicle per registration. \nHope
to see you on the 5th \, to celebrate the 4th! \nJim Pappas\, Mayor \nHun
